Where to recycle in the South Sound and find good homes for your extra stuff. PLEASE REFRESH THIS PAGE OFTEN SINCE IT KEEPS CHANGING. Scroll to the category you want. Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to recycle! You are taking care of yourself and us!

Area codes are all 360.

"Recycling affects public health" Waste reduction and recycling can slow our contributions to the greehouse gases that are causing climate change. Garbage leads to methane gas released as wastes decompose in landfills. Thurston County captures this methane and burns it for electricity. However many other landfills do not, causing methane to escape into the atmosphere, where it is 21 times more potent than carbon dioxide. The devasting changes of global warming have been brought about largely by our human activities and lifestyles. Suggestions: Recycle more, plant trees, drive less, turn off lights when not in use, look for alternative gifts on http://www.co.thurston.wa.us/holiday/ From: The Olympian 12/11/07
